I am having lots of fun doing the Hawaiian dance. I have noticed that the dances we are doing have been about moving your body in smooth flowing ways. The moves make sense and help to see the beauty that the Hawaiians saw. The dance also shows a little modern dance with the transition between moves. I am excited for the rest of the Hawaiian unit and would like to learn more.
We finished the wade in the water dance in class last week. I really liked the way we got to make our bodies flow. It invigorated me and was very fun. I am nervous about the group dance as we have only gotten around 10 minutes to work on them and my group has not done a lot. Overall, this dance was very fun and I look forward to performing it.

Kai Zabetakis
I am very excited for this new Alvin Ailey unit. It makes me feel really interested in his own life as well as his dancing career. This Wade in The Water dance is interesting, but it feels weird to be learning a new dance. It feels like it's going slower than before. It is probably because we just had so much stress, and now we are just starting again. I have seen Revelations before. This excites me because I usually don't know anything about our dance units. Now I can relate to some of the things we see. We haven't really gotten into the unit so I don't have that much more to say. Goodbye.

Hey guys it's me Kai here today. I'm gonna talk about my winter arts festival experience. I thought that it was really fun to preform on stage with everyone else. The only thing was that it was really crowded on the stage when we danced. One funny thing that happened to me was that I messed up. When we are supposed to stand still while the other class starts the reach I accidentally went with the other class too. So many things were going through my head that I just forgot to wait. I feel okay though because many people were having trouble with this and it just happened to be me to mess up at the wrong time. It was a great relief when we walked off stage and I felt really good. We also got ice cream so that made me even more happy. That was some of the best ice cream I've ever had.

I wanted to figure out what contemporary dance was so I said "what the heck" and looked it up. After watching this video I think that I've figured it out as a dance that is supposed to be smooth and maybe sad. Please comment, because I am still confused as to what contemporary dance is. I still thought that this video was really cool. The dance was so smooth. It kind of reminded me of the muscle dance that we are doing in class. I give a big thumbs up to anyone who would take the effort to learn such a long dance. I look forward to making ours this year, but am also a little nervous.

I think that the wave dance move is amazing. It's so fun and cool looking. I can do it using only my arms, but I can't do it like in the video. It looks really easy, but it's super hard for me. I don't know why, but I've always done it since I was a little boy. It feels so cool to let it "flow" through your body. It makes me feel amazing. Anyway, that was just a cool fact that I found i thought you guys would like. I feel so special with my own blog. It's still really hard to find my way around the blog. I keep pressing weird buttons and going into pop up URL's. This blog thing is still fun though. It helps me to have lots of time and much less stress.

I watched the video above and found it inspiring. It was such an original idea to dance in front of art in a museum. I was thinking that maybe at the end of the year we could pair up with the art talent group and do something like that. This made me think that it would be cool to do something with all of the talent groups. We would dance, drama could narrate the story, music would provide music, and we would dance in front of the art the art talent kids made.
